A disciples game allows teams of players to compete together; playing one is an excellent way to meet friendly people in the Dominions community. ===== Pretenders and Disciples ===== Each player controls one nation, as usual. A team has only one Pretender, which operates as normal; all other nations are led by a Disciple instead, which has many but not all of the same attributes. Players creating Disciples have fewer points to spend, but only have to spend points on their Disciple's chassis (what type of creature it is) and magic paths. In a normal game, pretender chassis fall into one of four categories: dominion strength 1 (usually mages), 2 (usually monsters or heralds), 3 (usually titans), or 4 (usually immobile statue-like forms). In a disciples game, Pretenders must be chosen from the domstrength 3 or 4 lists; Disciples must be chosen from the domstrength 1 or 2 lists. Disciples act as pretenders in many ways: they can claim thrones, they are blessed and autobless friendly sacreds when fighting in friendly dominion, and they have stat bonuses in friendly dominion and penalties in enemy dominion. If the pretender is dormant or imprisoned, disciples awaken in about half the time as the team's pretender. ==== No Prophets ==== Since the Pretender has heralds already (their disciples), there are no prophets in a disciples game. This can have real limitations on the ability for players to bless their armies and claim thrones. ===== Team Dominion ===== Since a team has only one Pretender, it has only one dominion and only one bless. The player who creates the Pretender thus determines the bless and scales for the whole team. If their nation has a special dominion effect (for instance, Arcoscephale's scrying, MA C'tis' disease, MA Ermor's popkill and freespawn, or MA Agartha's HP bonus to constructs), the whole team benefits (or suffers). Disciple players do not start with scales in their capital; their starting temple will spread dominion and that will cause scale shifts as normal. === Recalling Dead Pretenders and Disciples === The pretender nation can use Call God to call back any of their disciples. Disciple players can Call God to summon only their disciple or the team's pretender. ==== Allied Interactions ==== Provinces are owned individually; a player can't use forts or labs owned by an ally. There is a "Relinquish Province" command to hand over provinces to an ally that has an unstealthed commander present. If an enemy attacks a province occupied by multiple friendly armies, those armies will fight one after another; there are no joint battles. Likewise, the largest friendly army on top of an enemy fort counts as sieging it. Other allies don't contribute siege strength, but will fight.
