Gold is the currency used for mundane purposes in Dominions: recruiting troops and commanders, paying their upkeep, building buildings, and increasing province defense.

The main source of gold is monthly income from [[provinces]] you own, with each 100 [[population]] generating 1 gold per month, modified by [[scales]] and reduced by [[unrest]].

Secondary sources of gold include events, pillaging provinces, and alchemy rituals.
