====== Seduction ====== **Seduction** is an action with which a Stealthy commander, hiding in the province, may attempt to **steal** one local commander at random. The Seducer and the defender roll a dueling DRN check, with the base point value for the "Seduce" Roll being listed next to the trait; "Morale vs. 9", for example. If the Seduce Roll succeeds (or, well, **doesn't lose or tie**), and if the Seducer can move back to friendly territory **without sneaking**, the commander is brought to your side as yours. === What if the Roll Fails? === If the checks **tie**, nothing happens. The date went poorly. Oh well. The target will never mention your attempt to convert them. If the Seduce Roll **loses**, an **Assassination** battle occurs. The Seducer will invariably be the one more prepared for it, and will thus act on their script to ensure that the failed catch doesn't say anything. The defender will be surprised and will thus not act on script; as if they would even //expect// seduction attempts from other countries. === Beauty === **Beauty** modifies the Seduce Roll base. For example, the ??Pendant of Beauty?? provides **+2** Beauty; for a typical Seducer, who has a base Seduction skill of 9 (not very high at all), this would bring their skill up to 11. === Sex === **Females** aren't into **Females**, and **non-Females** aren't into **non-Females**. Since the Seduction target is chosen at random (essentially whoever happens to be around), there is a chance that a female seducer is caught by a female (or vice-versa); the result is an automatic failure for the Seducer, and a prompt Assassination battle... which, again, the Seducer will be the most prepared for. The **Mindless** cannot be Seduced, and "attempts on them" (rolling into the Mindless unit instead of someone else) will always result in an assassination battle. Seducers should not take offense to this, since the Mindless cannot judge. ===== Dream Seduction ===== Certain Seducers only act through **Dreams**; these are the **??Succubus??**, the **Incubus**, and the **??Lilot??** of Hinnom and its successors. Dream Seducers wait until the target is sleeping, then attempt to insert themselves into their dreams; in this case, there are **two** skill checks, one against the target's **Magic Resistance** and another against the target's Morale. The Magic Resistance check difficulty is listed next to the trait; "MR vs. 15" for Succubi, for example, or "MR vs. 14" for Lilin. if this check fails, nothing happens. The Morale check is against a base **15**, and it has the same consequences as a typical Seduction check. It doesn't use Beauty, however; instead, it uses the bonus of the ??Soul Scales??, known as "**Dream Enhancer**". **Sex does not prevent Dream Seduction**, but it //does// make it tougher. How would Incubi know how to woo another man? They'd have to guess. ===== Corruptor ===== A **Corruptor** seduces fellows with things other than sex; lies, riches, or straight-up soul-hammering. They do not benefit from Beauty, or the Dream Enhancer trait, but they **ignore the target's Sex** and typically have a much higher skill level.
