Your most gold efficent researcher. Not a great mage, but you can afford them in the early game and they can lead Gigante expansion parties. \\ They are effective at preaching away unwanted enemy dominion. \\ Note: many of your mages had their Ld artificaly lowered, So despite only being able to lead about 30-40 troops, you grant +1 moral and can lead up to 3 Squads without penalty. </WRAP></WRAP>

Not as gold conservative as Geronte, but are faster researchers and they are Mages that can do good magic in combat. \\ The Fire and Earth 2 have clear battlefield roles. Air randoms can forge ??Owl Quill??s and other {{path>A1}} items, but can also can be a ??Sulphur Haze?? caster if it has a {{:misc:magic:firegem.png?20&nolink}}  and cast ??Phoenix Power??. \\ having a Ephor in each fort during Autumn gives you a Giant Assassin at each Krypteion event. </WRAP></WRAP>

Ephor in a fort during Autumn gives you one Giant Assassin for each Krypteion event. Naked with a dagger is not good of their success so should be geared. The geared Giants will kill most Commanders that are not Death or Highlevel mages. \\ Also experts at Patroling away unrest. </WRAP></WRAP>

===== Troops =====
Your Gigante troops are powerful units with their stats and Magic gear. The main downside is that they cost a lot of gold and resources, they can only be lead by Size 4 commanders, and you can only recruit 5 of each kind of giant from your capital and 2 from other forts. This is somewhat offset by having cheap human slaves to fill out your numbers.

When a Helote gains 50 XP, they become a Neodamode, no longer a slave, and gain +4 Morale. Too Hard to get a large number of them, in the Mekonian fashion, better keep them with the squad and hope he dies, so you don't have to pay his wage.

Turns into **??Neodamode Peltast??** at 50 XP. Your best unit from the fact that they are easy to spam, low on upkeep, and have javelins that your mages can buff. Bad morale and low protection can always be offset by buffs and large numbers.

Very situational as the only benefit they have over Helote Peltast is that they have better moral and do not need taskmasters to function. For what they are, you would rather recruit indies with better stats than paying the full wage of a ??Militia??.

Turns into **??Neodamode Ekdromos??** at 50 XP. Supposedly a less resource intensive version of the Hoplites with less encumbrance and slightly better defence skill and combat speed. Ekdromos are very situational as they are more likely to die with their low protection. \\ Can be situationally better aganst enemies that try to fatigue your Hoplites out.

Naked strong men with two fists and a hardhitting thrown discus. They are the easiest to recruit of the Gigante troops, but very situational because of their lack of protection.\\ Could knock out enemy giants if you buff their Frisbees.

When you do not have the resources to make a Gigante Hoplite, you make these. When compared to their Helote counterpart, they have better Combat and map move, but a weaker breastplate. They tend to die to indies.

The second strongest giant troops behind Niefel Giants. \\ Clad in Magic gear that will resist armor destroying spells, and fitting 2 into a square, a unit of 6 to 16 can solo the majority of indies.\\ The main down side is that they are resource intensive and you do not have the best gold economy. They are also limited rerutment even if you were able to afford more then 4. This leaves you having to spam human slaves to fill up your numbers.
