======Start Affliction======

Units with this ability have a chance (denoted in brackets __on the wiki__) to start with an affliction when recruited/summoned/created. This is a "hidden" ability, meaning it is not displayed in the unit's preview statistics screen, though it is often explicitly mentioned or alluded to in the unit description (e.g. ??Misbred??), potentially with other non-guaranteed, and therefore not immediately displayed abilities, such as [[old age]] or, in the case of [[Tartarian Gate|Tartarians]], [[shattered soul]].

Note that while wiki entries will often have a number in brackets next to this ability, as with a number of immediately visible abilities, these are the result of testing, data mining, and/or reverse-engineering. As such there is no way to view the traits or their "bracket numbers" without modding or hacking the game.
