| | //THIS IS A WIP.// FIXME |
| ===== Lore ===== | ===== Lore ===== |
| | Zemaitia is a woodland realm of harsh winters and short summers inhabited by humans and Chudes, an exalted race of great strength and beauty. Once the Chudes were at war with the Vanir, but with the arrival of the Black Knights all changed. While some of their kin allied with the Vanir to fight the Black Knights, the Chudes of Zemaitia withdrew to defend their forest home. But the Black Knights were unstoppable and the Chude armies were defeated. The knights entered the forest and erected the mighty fortress Fort Vedun where the dweomer of the land was the strongest. |
| |
| //In-game nation description.// -- Nation Description | But over time the Chudes regrouped. For a time Fort Vedun stood fast, but as the war against Vanarus dragged on the Iron Kingdom withdrew. Fort Vedun was left to defend itself and became isolated in a hostile land seeped with magic. The fortress and its inhabitants were slowly transformed by the magic of the Dreamwild. The last human Hochmeister struck a deal with the Chudes and swore them allegiance. With the aid of the Black Knights the Chudes of Zemaitia defended their forests from the nascent Vanarusian kingdom. For centuries the Zemaitians went into hiding. |
| |
| //The in-game nation description is acceptable here (please note the source like above if you are directly copying a passage), but a custom-written version of the lore that incorporates insights from commander/hero descriptions and the Dominions 5 manual also works - it helps to keep things concise! A link to related nations in earlier or later ages fits here too.// | When Vanarus eventually crumbled and the human princes replaced the last of the Vanjarls, the Chudes of Zemaitia and their Sylvan Knights emerged from their sequestration and challenged the Princes of Bogarus. |

| ==== Magic Access ==== | ==== General Access ==== |
| |
| //This section is the longer version of the 'Magic Access' column in National Features. List which paths the nation has access to with its recruitable lineup, what level in each path and the maximum level attainable with common boosters. Avoid discussing in too much depth as much of the information is already covered in MelficeBelmont's Boosting and Access Guide. Some explanation may be required for more complicated boosting methods (e.g. commanderifying a unit with hidden paths).// | 1-in-250 ??Antlered Vedun?? have . The same proportion have , , , or . |
| |
| Berytos gets excellent magic diversity from the coastal fort ??Storm Caller?? and cap-only ??Bride-in-Waiting??. All of the paths available to Berytos can be boosted via communions using either astral or blood. | === Elements === |

| ==== National Spells ==== | * No Blood magic |
| | * on ??Seniunas?? |
| |
| //List combat and ritual spells unique to the nation. Keep descriptions brief but elaborate on any particularly useful spells.// | ==== Boosted Access ==== |
| |
| Berytos mostly borrows national spells from its varied cultural influences, but also has its own unique Melqart summon courtesy of its blood cult. Wastelands for ??Se'ir??im and ??Shed??im are usually generated near Berytos's capital on MapNuke maps, but may be more difficult to find on other maps. | |
| |
| **Combat** | === Multi-Path Booster === |
| * Berytos does not have any national combat spells. | |
| |
| **Ritual** | |
| |
| ^ ??Summon Mazzikim?? | //Conjuration 3// | • | ??Mazzik??×8 units | | === Fire === |
| | ::: | Nature equivalent of ??Summon Imps??, but cast outside of battle. ||| | Highest Starting: ??Vedun Mage Smith?? (33%) |
| ^ ??Summon Telkhine?? | //Conjuration 8// | • | ??Telkhine??×1 commander | | |
| | ::: | Summons a size 4 amphibious mage with a second form. Autocasts ??Foul Vapors?? in battle, kills 5% of population in its province every turn. Human form has Master Smith, demon form has a Fear aura and a **+1** pathboost to air and water. ||| | |
| ^ ??Scapegoats?? | //Blood 3// | • | ??Se'ir??×2 units | | |
| | ::: | Summons sacred, triple-attacking berserker demons. Hard-hitting but low native protection. ||| | |
| ^ ??Summon Shedim?? | //Blood 4// | • | ??Shed??×3 units | | |
| | ::: | Summons lightning-flinging, flying demons. Their lightning attack is similar to ??Lightning Bolt?? but the damage is based on strength instead, making Shedim mini evocation mages that scale with strength buffs. Much more mage turn-efficient than the generic equivalent, ??Bind Storm Demon??. ||| | |
| ^ ??Call Melqart?? | //Blood 6// | • | ??Melqart??×1 commander | | |
| | ::: | Summons a size 5 mage which kills population and raises unrest in its province. Notably different from Hinnom's ??Melqart#2031??s in that they are (can claim thrones) and random air instead of astral. ||| | |
| |
| ====National Items==== | === Air === |
| | Highest Starting: ??Chud Vedun?? (25%) |
| |
| //List and describe any unique national items or discounts in this section, if any.// | Zemaitia can summon ??Mountain Vila??s () with relative ease. on its own is not that impressive, but Zemaitia gets the option earlier than Glamour nations' typical route, ??Faerie Court??. Zemaitia can also summon ??Leshiy??s ( in Forests), if it gets to . |
| |
| ===National Items=== | === Water === |
| * Construction 2 for : **??Sword of the Five Elements??**\\ Grants the user reinvigoration and a lot of attack and defence skill. | No Native Access. |
| * Construction 2 for : **??Armor of the Five Elements??**\\ Light but high protection armor that grants minor fire, shock, and magic resistance. | |
| |
| ===National Discount Items=== | Zemaitia has earlier access to Water than most other Glamour nations, through summoning ??Lauma??s (). This is also less demanding for them than the traditional option, ??Faerie Court??. |
| * Construction 2 for instead of : **??Chi Shoes??**\\ Grants an additional kick attack. | |
| |
| =====See More===== | Laumas can then craft both the ??Water Bracelet?? and the ??Robe of the Sea??. They can summon ??Sea King??s for an extra level; or they can pass on both boosters to a ??Leshiy?? (), who can summon ??Beregina??s (). |

| Dominions 5 National Analysis: EA Berytos by Perun | === Earth === |
| | Highest Starting: ??Vedun Mage Smith?? |
| |
| |
| | === Astral === |
| | No Native Access. |
| | |
| | Zemaitia can summon ??Mountain Vila??s () with relative ease. on its own is not great, but you get it without needing to perform Gem Alchemy and/or Empowerment. |
| | |
| | === Death === |
| | No Native Access. |
| | |
| | === Nature === |
| | Highest Starting: ??Antlered Vedun?? (22%) |
| | |
| | Notably, Zemaitia's Glamour access lets it cast ??Lore of Legends??, boosting up from (with the ??Thistle Mace??) to ; from there, they can craft the ??Treelord's Staff?? to stay at . |
| | |
| | Zemaitia's mages can also cast ??Contact Mountain Vila??, summoning a mage who can craft the ??Moonvine Bracelet??; this brings Zemaitia's magic access up to , if you do both. You can then climb to by summoning a ??Leshiy??, who has without items (in Forests). |
| | |
| | === Glamour === |
| | Highest Starting: ??Antlered Vedun?? (22%) |
| | |
| | Notably, Zemaitia has access to the ??Mirage Crystal??; combined with the ??Gossamer Veil??, they can attain without much issue. They need only to cast ??Lore of Legends??, which provides one turn of extra boosting in each of their paths. |
| | |

| | ===== Weaknesses ===== |
| | Pyrène is one of three Late nations without **any** Astral magic; the other two are Caelum and Xibalba. This makes Pyrène immune to Magic Duel rushes, but not if they take an Astral Pretender God, in which case all Magic Duel attempts will be funneled upon them. This also makes Pyrène one of the only three nations vulnerable to ??Mind Hunt?? sniping, and arguably the //most// vulnerable of them due to the nation's typically low Magic Resistance. |
| | |
| | Aside from that, Pyrènian magic is rather narrow on off-capital forts; disregarding the 10% randoms on the Cambion Countess, the nation is essentially limited to Blood and Glamour from its citadels. The off-capital mages are more varied, but the gulf between a fort-less province and one with a citadel is extremely significant. |
| | |
| | The best Pyrènian mages have average Morale, which ironically makes the nation vulnerable to its own Seduction gimmick. Said mages can deflect Dream Seduction with their Magic Resistance (which is above average), but they're out of luck against Pangaean Dryads and Marignese Troubadours. |
