Cynocephalians can be recruited from forts built in caves, highlands, and some mountains. Among the vassals of Magnificent Ind, Cynos stand out for unlocking half of the nation's magic diversity as well as (arguably) providing the most useful troops. Cynocephalians have fantastic damage output due to the multiple attacks and their ability to go berserk, but suffer from low protection and need protective buffs to reach their full potential. They are also expensive to keep around due to causing unrest, adding to Ind's economic woes.
Cynos also share the following traits (which will be omitted from the tables below for brevity):
Sprite | Unit Name | Special Attributes | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
Cynocephalian Chieftain 55 14 1 | Berserker (+3) Pillager (+5) Cause Unrest (+2/month) | An expensive 40 leadership commander. | |
Cynocephalian Shaman 65 2 2 | 1150% 3 Inept Researcher (-4) Berserker (+4) Pillager (+5) Cause Unrest (+2/month) Heretic (1) Female | Cheapest Cynocephalian mage. The only national recruit with a 12.5% chance of the (useful in item forging) or crosspaths. |
|
Gog Dog-Father 130 16 2 | 11100% 7 Inept Researcher (-2) Berserker (+4) Ambidextrous (2) Pillager (+5) Cause Unrest (+3/month) Heretic (1) | 80 leadership light thug chassis with minor magic utility. A bit disappointing compared to the Magog Bitch-Mother. | |
Magog Bitch-Mother 225 2 2 | 1121100% 11 Inept Researcher (-2) Stealthy (40) Berserker (+5) Ambidextrous (2) Pillager (+5) Cause Unrest (+3/month) Heretic (2) Female | The true gem of Ind's non-cap forts. Provides access to two entire paths that Ind otherwise lacks, and far more reliable nature access than the Abbot Magus Supreme. Also a decent thug chassis and strong combat mage. | |
Bishop Vicomte 115 3 2 | 2 Sacred Reduces Unrest (1) Lord Over Heathen Tribes (4) Tax Collector | 80 leadership priest that reduces unrest and can Mobilize Heathens. | |
Viceroy Primate 165 8 4 | 3 Sacred Reduces Unrest (3) Lord Over Heathen Tribes (6) Tax Collector | 40 leadership greater priest, but the Cynocephalian mages are a better use of fort turns. |
All Cynocephalian troops are undisciplined and cannot be told to hold at the start of combat. This can make them more difficult to buff with protection that they really need!
Sprite | Unit Name | Special Attributes | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
Cynocephalian Hunter 14 5 4 | Berserker (+2) Pillager (+2) Cause Unrest (+0.3/month) | The lower end Cynocephalians in terms of cost and combat utility, both having only two melee attacks. | |
Cynocephalian Flesh-Eater 18 5 7 |
|||
Magog Flesh-Hunter 20 5 8 | Stealthy (40) Berserker (+3) Pillager (+3) Cause Unrest (+0.4/month) Female | As the only stealthy troop in the Cynocephalian lineup, Magog Flesh-Hunters are a great way to build up military strength without being too obvious about it (though massing any Cyno troop will put a noticeable dent in your treasury). They will always use their short bow first once in range, meaning that they are a little easier to buff than Gog Reavers. | |
Gog Reaver 28 16 13 | Berserker (+4) Pillager (+3) Cause Unrest (+0.4/month) |
