If a unit is unique, then only one of them exists. This has a few features:

• If they're already on the strategic map, then they cannot be Summoned.
• If they're already on the strategic map, then Wishing for them gives them to the Wisher.
• If they're not on the strategic map because they're dead, then Summoning them resurrects them.
  • Empowerments and most Afflictions will remain, but the unit's shape and Commander status are determined by the spell.

Most Heroes are unique; only the Wishing rule applies to them, since they won't arrive a second time.

Other unique guys include the Elemental Royalty, the Treelords, the Eater of the Dead, and the Doom Horrors.
