Divine Magic

Divine Magic is the Magic used by Priests. Its "spells" are appeals and prayers to the Gods, so no Research is required. With the exception of a single spell, Divine "spells" cost no additional Fatigue to use, but still incur Spellcasting Encumbrance. A successful Magic Resistance check negates all offensive Divine spells.

Blessing

Spell name Paths Spell description Effect
Blessing holy 11 This prayer can be used to bless the priest or a group of sacred warriors. Blessed units receive increased morale and additional powers if their God is powerful enough to claim a divine title. Applies your Bless to friendly Sacred units in 5 (+5 for every extra Priest level) squares within 15 (+10 for every extra Priest level) squares of the caster.
Divine Blessing holy 33 This is the same as the Blessing prayer, except that it affects all holy units on the entire battlefield. Blesses all of your teammates on the field that can be blessed. Before 5.57, it took 25% longer to cast.

Banishment spells

All Banishment spells require holy 11 and affect only Undead foes. You will have only one of these accessible to you in each game; you'll get a different spell from the generic Banishment if your Pretender has at least 4 in a Magic path in creation, determined by which path has the highest level, picking the leftmost path () in the event of a tie. There is no blood-specific banishment spell; if this is the highest path of your pretender, you receive the default banishment spell instead.

Pull from the Grave This is a banishment spell.
With this prayer the priest targets undead beings with the Ctonian power of his God. A large number of undead beings will take damage unless they manage to resist the banishment. They might also be pulled into the ground and buried.

With this prayer the priest smites undead beings with the power of his celestial God. A large number of undead beings will take damage and stop in their tracks unless they manage to resist the banishment.

Final Rest This is a banishment spell.
With this prayer the priest calls upon the life giving powers of his God to restore the natural order and destroy undead beings. The prayer will destroy undead beings outright unless they manage to resist the banishment.

Sermon of Courage spells

Spell name Paths Spell description Effect
Sermon of Courage holy 22 Soldiers' morale is increased with the help of this prayer. Gives a +1 Morale bonus to all friendly units in 10 (+5 for every extra Priest level) squares within 25 (+10 for every extra Priest level) squares of the caster.
Fanaticism holy 44 This prayer has the same effect as Sermon of Courage, but it affects all friendly units on the entire battlefield. Gives +1 Morale to all of your teammates on the battlefield. Before version 5.57, it took 25% longer to cast.

Other Divine Spells

Spell name Paths Spell description Effect
Smite Demon holy 22 This prayer will make a divine bolt strike down from the sky and deliver massive damage to a demon who fails to resist the spell. Does 15 AN DMG to a Demon, scaling with (+5 Dmg). MR Negates.
Holy Word holy 22 With a holy word from the next true God the priest is able to stun a sacred warrior of a false pretender. Stuns an opposing Sacred unit or Pretender. MR negates.
Holy Avenger holy 22 Any harm done to the casting priest will result in a divine bolt striking in the midst of the enemy. Each time the caster takes damage, the damager is hit with a 20 AN DMG beam during the next round. MR Negates. These build up with multiple hits, but only one will hit each round, and only three can hit after the caster's death.
Divine Channeling holy 55 The priest channels the divine might of his God onto the battlefield. All friendly priests of low power have their priest skill increased for the duration of the battle. A Battlefield Enchantment that provides a +holy 11 pathboost to all friendly holy 11 priests. This does cause Fatigue, 90 at base.
